Never forget that we are in a war, and when the enemy gets backed up against a wall, he will fight with everything he has.

Everywhere around the world, Jesus is fighting for our hearts. He is still fighting to win what became rightfully his when he bought it with his blood. And here at Sam Houston, he is winning the reward of his suffering, although he doesn't have all of it yet.

Psalm 59
1 Rescue me from my enemies, O God.
Protect me from those who have come to destroy me.
9 You are my strength; I wait for you to rescue me,
for you, O God, are my fortress.

"All Hell is smaller than one atom of Heaven."
-The Great Divorce

In the past few days, I have found the following quotes very encouraging:

"All Hell is smaller than one pebble of your earthly world, but it is smaller than one atom of this world, the Real World. Look at yon butterfly. If it swallowed all Hell, Hell would not be big enough to do it any harm or to have any taste. . . . All loneliness, angers, hatreds, envies and itchings that it contains, if rolled into one single experience and put into the scale against the least moment of joy that is felt by the least in Heaven, would have no weight that could be registered at all. Bad cannot succeed even in being bad as truly as good is good."
-C.S. Lewis, "The Great Divorce"

"It's strange how so much fear and doubt can be caused by something so small."
-Boromir, "The Fellowship of the Ring", describing the One Ring

". . . The one may be regarded as infinite in goodness, the other as infinite in badness, and the world in which we live is a product of the everlasting conflict between the two. . . . it is needless to say that it has always exerted a mighty influence upon Christian theology."
-John Fiske, "Through Nature to God"

"God has no opposite because God has no equal."
-Eli Gautreax

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything
wich is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday;this is the birth
day of life and love and wings:and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no
of all nothing-human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

-E. E. Cummings

Matthew 14:31
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"

John 20:27
Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

"Shall any gazer see with mortal eyes
Or any searcher know with mortal mind--
Veil after veil will lift--but there must be
Veil after veil behind."
-Sir Edwin Arnold

"Thick clouds veil him, so he does not see us
as he goes about in the vaulted heavens."
-Eliphaz, one of the liars in the book of Job (Job 22:14)

" . . . But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away."
-Paul, who had seen Christ (2 Corinthians 3:16)

"At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split."
(Matthew 27:51)

"They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads."
(Revelation 22:4)

Don't believe the lie of the world. Christ has made God reachable. There is no veil, and if you want to see him you only have to ask to. When John speaks of the Word of Life, he says that we have seen it with our eyes, heard it with our ears, and touched with our hands. (1 John 1:1)
